For interior painting, we ask homeowners to remove small items such as pictures, décor, knickknacks, fragile items, and anything that could be easily bumped, knocked over, or broken. Once the room is ready, larger furniture and objects can often be moved toward the center of the room. We typically need about 3–4 feet of working space around the areas being painted. If there is not enough room to work safely, some items may need to be removed before painting begins.

After setup, furniture and larger items are covered with protective coverings. Floors are protected with drop cloths and plastic where needed, and sensitive areas are taped, masked, and covered to help prevent paint from getting on surfaces that are not being painted.

For exterior painting, we protect landscaping, plants, bushes, windows, doors, fixtures, walkways, patios, decks, roofing, and surrounding surfaces where needed. Windows are taped and masked to help prevent paint from getting on glass, frames, and nearby surfaces.

When cleaning the exterior, we use a soft wash process with biodegradable cleaning solutions where appropriate instead of aggressively power washing the home. This helps remove dirt, mildew, algae, and surface buildup while protecting the integrity of your siding and exterior surfaces.

During exterior prep and painting, we use proper masking, spray shields, and controlled application methods to help keep paint where it belongs — not on your windows, roof, landscaping, vehicles, or surrounding property. We also avoid spraying in unsafe wind conditions.

We also take cleanup seriously. Paint chips, scraping debris, masking materials, and job-site trash are cleaned up and removed so they are not left around your yard, landscaping, walkways, or areas where children and pets may be present.

Respect also means how our crews conduct themselves on your property. Every crew member is expected to follow In The Paint Co. job site rules and expectations, including professional conduct, branded work clothing, no smoking or vaping on customer property, no drugs or alcohol, no loud music, no vulgar language, no offensive clothing, and no shirtless work.

Crews are expected to keep clean, controlled work areas. Tools and materials should be organized, trash should be removed, and the job site should be cleaned at the end of each workday. We are also mindful of pets, doors, privacy, and your personal space while working in or around your home.

Photos or videos of your home are never taken or used for marketing without direct permission.
